The Unknown and Paradise Ancient Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Betta is about 35km from Mysuru, located in Ukkalagere village. Heavenly trekking place with eye soothing nature all around. There are no trails or steps to reach the top of the hill which makes the climbing hardcore, challenging and fun. One needs to go through rocks to reach the top of the hill. The view from top is breathtaking and mesmerising. Ancient Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Chola dynasty temple is present at top of the hill. The Shiva linga inside the temple is Udhbhava Murthy. One needs to crawl inside the temple. First the Shiva linga appeared in this temple and then appeared in Ukkalagere Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple which is next to this hill. Ancient place where Sri Rushi Muni have performed tapas. Five headed snake believed to exist here. Ideal place for photography. Forest area hence late night trekking and camping is restricted. Overall the hardcore trekking experience and the blessings of Ancient Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy makes this a must visit with friends and family
