The Unknown and Breathtaking Sri Gavigala Manteshwara Swamy Betta is about 69km from Mysuru, located in Kandegala Village. Sri Siddappaji Temple Gaddigallu Kshethra and Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple is present at top of the hill which is about few meters of distance from each other. There is muddy stone road that leads all the way to the top of the hill. From there one needs to climb few stone steps to reach the temple. It is believed that Sri Siddappaji appeared in the body of one of the local resident and requested the local residents to build a temple around the Gavi and protect the stone pillars below the temple. The gavi consists of multiple huge depth chamber inside. Ancient place believed to be older than chola dynasty. There is a 6km tunnel from the Gavi till Sheelavanthapura village. The Lord Hanuman idol in Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy Temple is Udhbhava Murthy. It is believed that if you keep a bowl of milk at top of the hill 5 headed snake comes early in the morning, drinks it and then leaves. Also a tiger sleeps every night in front of the temple and has been seen by local residents. Ideal place for trekking and photography. One can trek further heights from the temple and also the surrounding area. Forest area, hence late night trekking and camping is prohibited. Overall the blessings of Sri Siddappaji Swamy and Sri Veeranjaneya Swamy with mesmerising nature allaround, makes this a must visit trekking place with friends and family
