The Unknown and Mesmerizing Gummanayakana Fort is about 128km from Bengaluru, located in Vasanthapura village. The place once ruled by Sri Kadrappa Nayaka. The place is now guarded, maintained and watched by Tourism Department of Karnataka. One needs to update the Tourism officer and then enter the Fort. It is believed that the whole fort was built by only two men. However one of the men during the time of built watched a beautiful princess who he eventually got married to. During the time of outsiders invasion, lot of Ladies and Men residing at this place jumped into a well and gave up their life, the well still exist here. One needs to go through a ruined stone steps in order to reach the top of the fort. The view from above is eye soothing, especially watching the hills surrounding the hills. There is Suranga that connects the near by hills which is completely covered now. Also the gun point holes in the walls can be seen here. Soldiers used these hole point to fight their enemies. At the below of the fort, Sri Anjaneya Swamy and Sri Ganapathi Idol is present. Also in the middle of the fort hill there is a Temple with Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Udhbhava murthy. Overall the Ancient History of this place with mind blowing views all around at the top, makes this a must visit place with Friends and Family
