Karanth Sir house named Balavana and is now maintained by the Government of India. The government has added a swimming pool and made the place an educational institution for local children. Karanth Sir was the third person among seven recipients of Jnanpith Award for Kannada the highest literary honor conferred by the Govt. of India. Karanth Sir was conferred Padma Bhushan by Government of India. Very calm, peaceful place with beautiful greenery all around. Park is available inside.
