The Unknown and Marvelous Sri Gavi Basaveshwara Swamy Cave Hill Temple and Sri Kondabasaveshwaraswamy Temple is about 19km from Mysuru, located in Mudalahundi village. There is a small muddy trail from Sri Kondabasaveshwaraswamy Temple that leads to the below of Sri Gavi Basaveshwara Swamy Cave Hill Temple. one needs to walk few meters from below to reach the top. Amazing trekking place with jaw breaking view all around. It is believed that Sri Gavi Basaveshwara Swamy Cave Hill Temple was higher than Sri Chamundeshwari Hills Mysuru. Sri Goddess Chamundeshwari Amma with the help of Elephant reduced the height of this hill. The Ancient Foot print of Elephant, Horse can be seen here on a rock that is few km away from this cave temple.Huge Snake is believed to live here. Sri Kondabasaveshwaraswamy Temple is below the hill and the idol is udhbhava murthy. Forest area hence late night trekking and camping is restricted. Have a short day in hand and looking for a quick trekking experience, this is the place to be. Thus making this a must visit picnic place with Friends and Family
