For all you lovely Mysureans who were asking me for a nearby unknown heaven trekking place, this one is for you. I know everyone is familiar with Sri Chamundi Ammana Hill, but do check out this unknown cave temple that is on this hill. The Unknown and Heavenly Sri Gavi Shiva Madeshwara Swamy Temple is about 4km from Mysuru, located on Sri Chamundi Ammana Hill. One needs to trek from below Gowri Shankar Nagar area. There is only small trail that leads all the way to the top, thus making the trek fun and challenging. Trekking through the forest is a tranquil experience. Ancient Sri Gavi Shiva Madeshwara Swamy Temple, Sri Ganapathi Swamy Temple and Sri Naga Deva Temple is present at the top. It is believed that in Ancient time Sri Sadhu used the suranga from the cave temple to reach the Sri Chamundi Ammana Temple, however the tunnel is now closed. The view from above is jaw breaking. There is water flowing near Sri Naga Deva Temple and is a treat to watch. Ideal place for photography and short trek. Forest area, hence late night trekking and camping is restricted. Overall the blessings of multiple gods and quick trekking getaway from city busy life makes this a must visit picnic place with Friends and Family
