The Unknown and Heavenly Sri Mavukalleswa Swamy Hill Forest Temple is about 76km from Mysuru, located in Kogilavadi village. What a place, Trekking paradise. Place where Lord Sri Ram stayed along with Lord Lakshman and Goddess Sitha mathe. The Hill can be visited during the occasion of Mahashivaratri Festival and with special permission on other days, as the place is in the watchful eyes of Forest Department. One needs to go through a trail from below the hill till all the way to the top. Sri Mavukalleswa Swamy Temple is present at the the top and the idol inside the Temple is Udhbhava Murthy. There is a Chola Gavi and it is believed that the tunnel connects to Mysuru city which is about 76km away from this place. Elephant and other wild animals hot spot area, hence wandering or trying to access this place without permission from Forest Department will lead to Legal action. From the Temple below there is Wate Koli, a small hole that is filled with water throughout the year.
