The Unknown and Ancient Heaven Sri Ramalingeshwara Swamy Temple is about 45km from Mysuru, located in Matakere village. There is thar road all the way to this place. Place where Kapila and Tharka River merge. It is believed that Lord Rama requested Lord Hanuman to bring Shiva Linga in order to perform pooja. Since there was a delay from Lord Hanuman in bringing Shiva Linga, Lord Rama created 101 Shiva Linga using mud. Later when Hanuman came with a Shiva Linga, since it was no longer needed as Lord Rama completed pooja using muddy Shiva Linga, Lord Rama placed the Shiva Linga that was given by Lord Hanuman in the flowing river which has been growing big over the years. One can be reach this with the help of a coracle. Sri Parvathi Amma, Ancient Scupltures and Ancient Script can be seen here. Overall the Ancient History of this place, the blessings of multiple deity with scenic nature all around makes this a must visit place with friends and family
