The unknown and little hidden gem Kanthe Mahadeshwara Betta is about 36km from Mysuru, 3km from Yalehalli village. Located on a small hillock, there is a road that leads to the top of the hill. The view from above is eye soothing. Sri Mahadeshwara swamy temple is present at the top of the hill. Swamy Maribudhivaru from a village called as Mangaluru which is about 6km from this place, used to look after this temple. Now Swamy Maribudhivaru basadi is present and a Shiva Linga has emerged out of his basadi. This is mythical and main attraction of this place. Overall the blessings of Sri Mahadeshwara swamy and the mesmerising nature surrounding this place makes this a must visit with friends and family
