Gundal Reservoir is about 78km from Mysuru and 160km from Bengaluru. Gundal Reservoir (However, mentioned on sign boards as Gundal Dam) is a Picnic spot. Constructed between MM Hills and BR Hills, it is a picturesque location, hardly frequented by people. The Reservoir is surrounded by a chain of hills and the rain water which flows down the hills gets collected here. In the background of the dam we can Burde Forest, Doddasampige & Chickasampige Forest which comes under Billigiri Rangaswamy Temple Wildlife Sanctuary-TFS.
